The tougher contest now is performance: can India make this scale deliver—hour by hour, feeder by feeder—through heatwaves, market volatility and rising demand?
This edition is dedicated to the integration decade. Digitalisation, AI-led forecasting, cybersecurity, demand flexibility and storage are no longer “future-ready” themes; they are the operating system of a reliable and affordable power system. Pumped storage and batteries will only scale if we make them bankable—through clear market signals, ancillary services and revenue stacking that rewards flexibility.
At India Energy Week 2026, the message was equally pragmatic: the transition is energy addition across fuels, not a simplistic replacement—and it will be won by investment discipline and data-led planning.
States are becoming the real laboratories of energy security. Rajasthan’s story shows how a renewables leader—42.5 GW strong—can evolve from capacity leadership to system leadership by building wind-solar hybrids, storage-linked assets, biomass and new molecule pathways such as CBG and hydrogen.
