The Andhra Pradesh Government has officially authorised ₹521.58 crore power infrastructure package under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), supporting undisturbed electricity supply for the around the corner Akhanda Godavari Maha Pushkaralu–2027.
The officials' approvals were given on Monday in a State Distribution Reforms Committee (SDRC) review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad at the Secretariat.
Moreover, keeping a note on the expected increase in electricity usage 100 MW in the city of Rajamahendravaram alone during the 12-day mega religious event expected to draw nearly one crore devotees daily to the Godavari region, the SDRC approved ₹345.54 crore sanction for upgrade and expand the power network in Rajamahendravaram, Konaseema, Kakinada, and West Godavari.
The clearance also includes building fresh 33/11 kV substations, laying down supplemental 33 kV and 11 kV supply lines, boosting present transformer capabilities, and deploying distribution transformers.
