The Public Enterprises Selection (PESB) panel has recommended Chacko Mazhuvanchery Jose to be the next Director (Refineries) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG).


At present, he is Executive Director at Kochi Refinery in the same organisation. Prior to this role, he led BPCL’s Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh.


He has been recommended from a list of 12 candidates interviewed by the PESB selection panel in a meeting held on August 21, 2026.


Jose brings more than three decades of experience in petroleum refineries. He has held responsibilities across operations, technical services, projects, energy, and environment management.


He is a chemical Engineer with a bachelor's degree from Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He is also an alumnus of Cochin University of Science and Technology with an MBA degree.
