Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, underscored the growing role of the nation in shaping the world’s third-largest consumer of energy and oil.
India is the fourth-largest LNG importer and third-largest refiner, the minister said in an interaction with senior officers of the Indian Foreign Service.
Furthermore, Puri stated in a social media post that India’s energy demand will potentially expand 2.5 times by 2047, driving nearly 25 percent of incremental global demand. The minister also asserted that key policy reforms have boosted diversified energy sources, domestic capabilities, deepened strategic partnerships and accelerated the country's transition towards cleaner energy over the past decade.
