Javvadi VN Subramanyam, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has assumed charge as Government Nominee Director on Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Board with effect from July 24, 2026.


Approved by the IREDA Board on July 24, Subramanyam’s appointment as Government Nominee Director will continue until the three open functional director roles are filled or until new orders are issued.


Subramnayan is an IAS officer who brings more than 18 years of experience. He has held key responsibilities across the central and state governments in renewable energy, public financial management, industrial and infrastructure development, healthcare and governance reforms.


Prior to his appointment at MNRE, he served in the Ministry of Finance as the Department of Economic Affairs where he oversaw financial market policy and international economic engagements.


Moreover, he has held positions such as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC), Commissioner of Industries, Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, Mission Director of the National Health Mission in Assam, and Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Goalpara, Assam.


Subramanyan is a chartered accountant and cost accountant with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, a Master's in Public Policy, and the Chevening Gurukul Fellowship in Leadership from King's College London.
