Dr Faruk G Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, KP Group, one of India’s leading renewable energy conglomerates, has been conferred with the BRICS International Award for Sustainable Energy Leadership at the BRICS International Investment Forum 2026 in New Delhi.
The forum, hosted by the BRICS Cultural Media Forum, gathered policymakers, industry leaders and innovators from across BRICS nations to promote collaboration in investment, sustainability and cultural exchange. It served as a platform to explore how BRICS economies can accelerate growth through the convergence of sustainability and cultural diplomacy.
Commenting on the recognition, Dr Patel said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition at the BRICS International Investment Forum 2026. This award is not just a personal milestone but a reflection of KP Group’s commitment to building a sustainable future.”
As BRICS nations continue to grow, he added, “Renewable energy will play a defining role in ensuring inclusive and environmentally responsible growth. Collaboration will be key to accelerating the global energy transition.”
Dr Patel was recognised for his contribution to advancing clean energy adoption and developing large-scale renewable infrastructure supporting both economic development and environmental responsibility. “Under his leadership, KP Group has emerged as a key player in India’s transition towards green energy, with a diversified portfolio spanning solar, wind and hybrid power, and green hydrogen,” the company said in a statement.
This development highlights growing global recognition for India Inc and Indian leaders towards driving clean energy adoption and achieving the broader goal of the nation’s energy transition.
