The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has unveiled an interactive digital platform, ‘Get Solar in 60 Secs’ to make solar adoption process easier under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
Under the scheme, over 50 lakh households have been empowered to generate their own energy in just over two years since its launch. With the launch of the digital tool, the process of solar adoption will be simplified.
Through the digital platform, users can enter their name and phone number along with their state and district and a slider allows them to enter their last month's electricity bill and sanctioned load. It then calculates the ideal solar plant capacity for their home, government subsidy eligibility, the installation cost, available bank loan and applicable interest rate, as well as estimated lifetime savings.
Also, the platform offers users an organised list of verified vendors approved under PM Surya Ghar. Moreover, it allows users to call or message installers directly via WhatsApp.
