Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara has been appointed as by NHPC Ltd on its Board for five years with effect from the date he assumes charge of the post or until his superannuation on August 31, 2031, or until further orders, as informed by the company on Monday.

Ranpara brings nearly three decades of experience in state-owned power sector companies in Gujarat, he has held key responsibilities across human resource management, organisational restructuring, manpower planning and leadership development. Prior to joining the power sector, he also worked in the private sector.


Prior to his appointment at NHPC, he was Director (Human Resources) of Grid Controller of India Ltd (Grid-India).


He is an alumnus of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sardar Patel University. Additionally, he is a certified assessor from XLRI - Xavier School of Management.


Moreover, he served as HR Head at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) where he directed HR policy strategy for a 60,000-plus employee workforce before moving to Grid-India. He also played a vital role in strategic communications and key initiatives to facilitate a smooth, transparent transition during the unbundling process of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB).


Ranpara also holds expertise across designing performance management systems, succession planning frameworks, leadership development programmes and HR initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, creativity and reskilling in line with the growing penetration of renewable energy in the power sector.
