NITI Aayog has prepared a draft Energy Transition Blueprint aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh into one of India’s top three renewable energy hubs, proposing investments of around ₹7.5 lakh crore in the energy sector.
NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam handed over the draft blueprint to Chief Secretary K Vijayanand at the State Secretariat in Amaravati.
Officials said the blueprint seeks to ensure clean, affordable and reliable electricity for all consumers while positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major renewable energy export hub by 2035. The plan has been prepared under the ASSET (Accelerating Sustainable State Energy Transition) platform of NITI Aayog and is aligned with the state’s long-term development vision.
According to draft estimates, 47 percent of Andhra Pradesh’s installed power capacity is currently from renewable sources.
