NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL) has signed a joint venture agreement with Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) to launch and maintain a 1,000 MW green energy project in Odisha in the first phase.
The agreement was signed on June 23 by Devendra Pratap Singh, CEO, NIRL, and Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan, CEO, OREDA and Special Secretary, Department of Energy, the Government of Odisha.
The first phase of the agreement includes installation of 1,000 MW of green power plants across Odisha, according to the company, and further progress will be dependent upon the permits from the boards concerned, authorities, and the Ministry of Coal.
Under the agreement, the installation of other green energy assets and ancillary activities through forward and backward integration will also be covered.
This collaboration is expected to bring diverse changes in the clean and sustainable energy sector, as per Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLC India.
He further highlighted advancement of renewable energy initiatives that utilise solar, wind, hybrid configurations, advanced storage, and green hydrogen technologies.
