The Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi cabinet has reportedly gave a nod 10 proposals of different departments, including amendments to the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy (OSMFP) and Odisha Renewable Energy Policy (OREP), 2022, reports PTI.

The OSMFP was notified in September 2023 and later amended in March 2024 and July 2025. It played an instrumental role to attract investments in strategic segments. These segments, according to Chief Secretary Anu Garg, are compound semiconductor units.

The proposals from five companies have been approved till now. These includes two projects, which secured support under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Garg informed, adding that the third amendment was made in response to stakeholder feedback and evolving national policy priorities.
