Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate virtually the India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 conclave via video link on January 27, as the four-day global energy event begins in South Goa.
The event, scheduled from January 27 to 30 at Betul village in South Goa district, will bring together energy ministers, policymakers, industry leaders and investors from across the world to deliberate on key challenges facing the global energy system.
According to a PTI report, Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) Director General Gurmeet Singh said Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson will attend the inauguration, along with senior ministers from Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Global South.
Singh said the Prime Minister will address delegates virtually after the inaugural ceremony.
According to organisers, IEW 2026 will focus on strengthening energy security, mobilising investments and advancing practical, scalable pathways for decarbonisation that can be adapted across economies at different stages of development.
Delegations from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region are expected to participate, underscoring the growing role of India Energy Week in global energy diplomacy.
The conclave is expected to attract over 75,000 energy professionals from more than 120 countries. The previous edition in 2025 drew over 68,000 participants, 570 exhibitors and 5,400 conference delegates, and hosted around 100 conference sessions featuring 540 global speakers.
Organisers said the event will provide a structured platform for policy dialogue, technical exchange and industry engagement through ministerial roundtables, CEO-level discussions on global capital flows, public-private dialogues and technology showcases by multinational firms, national energy companies and startups.
