Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd has appointed Amol Babulal Taori as Director (Finance) on its Board. He assumed charge on Tuesday as per a statement by the company in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges.


His tenure will last for five years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, as per the Ministry of Power order.


With his appointment, Dr Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel) handed over the additional charge of Director (Finance) that he had been holding.


A Chartered Accountant with around 30 years of experience in international trade, treasury, marketing, finance and compensation management, Taori previously worked at International Trade at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) as Executive Director (In-charge).


At HPCL, he held responsibilities such as crude procurement of around 700 kbd, chartering and shipping arrangements, product imports and exports, and oil price risk management.


Moreover, he has directed one of India’s largest corporate treasuries and led HPCL's inaugural US dollar bond issuance for more than a decade. He also pioneered the Oil Bond Swap targeting to decrease borrowing costs and executed the company's initial foreign currency swaps along with a revolving line of credit.


Additionally, He represented HPCL at global debt and equity roadshows, served as a trustee for all of the company's employee benefit trusts, and held a position as a Director on the Board of HPCL Middle East FZCO in Dubai.
