Smt. Rupa Saikia has been appointed by Gail India Ltd as an independent director on its board. The Maharatna PSU announced the appointment on Sunday in a filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd and BSE Ltd
Saikia has above 14 years of professional experience in education and human resource management to the board. She has worked as the Secretary of the Golaghat Zila Lekhika Samaroh in Assam, where she oversaw key administrative and organizational functions.
The company affirmed that Saikia holds no inter-se relationship with other directors of GAIL fulfilling the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Gail also clarified that she is not disqualified or barred from serving as a director by SEBI, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, or any other regulatory body.
