Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, announced the commencement of Yuva Yodha, a national tech hackathon that aims to empower the country’s brightest young talents to develop solutions that boost energy technology and supports India’s evolving sustainability and energy needs.

Yuva Yodha aligns with India’s push for an innovation-driven economy and targets to cultivate future technology leaders and problem solvers. The initiative connects academia with industry to create lasting impact by providing industry mentorship, real-world challenges, and a showcase platform.

The hackathon is open to Indian citizens or residents aged 18 and older enrolled full-time in undergraduate, postgraduate, or STEM programs in India. Students can compete individually or in teams of up to four.

The initiative will allow students to create practical, scalable solutions in four key areas: Smart Manufacturing, Grid Reliability & Renewable Intermittency, Sustainable Agriculture and Smart Buildings.

Furthermore, the hackathon supports Schneider Electric’s vision of being the country’s energy technology partner and with its theme, “Let Your Big Idea Shape the Future of Energy Tech,” it will encourage students to develop solutions for real-world challenges while supporting India’s sustainability and development goals.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Deepak Sharma, Zone President, Greater India, Managing Director and CEO, Schneider Electric India, said: “Through Yuva Yodha, we are creating a platform where young innovators can work on real-world challenges, transform ideas into impact, and contribute meaningfully to advancing energy technologies that will help electrify, automate and digitalise India, building a more sustainable and resilient future for generations to come.”
