The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), representing the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has announced a stakeholder consultation to gather industry input on hiring a professional agency to set up a dedicated Programme Management Unit (PMU) for renewable energy schemes.


As a scheme-agnostic support unit, the PMU will provide support across technical, financial, information technology, field monitoring, and coordination activities at the state level, covering both existing and future renewable energy programmes assigned to SECI.


Additionally, the unit will hold responsibility for management across digital platforms, media communication, information, data analytics, education and communication (IEC) activities, and direct engagement with beneficiaries. Its primary responsibility will be streamline coordination across state agencies, discoms, financial bodies, developers, vendors, and beneficiaries.


SECI and MNRE are seeking prospective bidders, professional agencies, and other industry stakeholders to contribute in the consultations process. The talks will target the PMU's proposed layout and purview, manpower demands, success metrics, deployment tactics, and required staff qualifications.


The stakeholders will also contribute by providing feedback on the Team Leader's duties, financial management frameworks, and inter-agency coordination between SECI, MNRE, and key regulatory bodies.


The consultation meeting will be held on August 19, 2026, and will be conducted offline at the Board Room of SECI’s Corporate Office in Tower-4 of the NBCC Office Complex at East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi.


The attendees can present their recommendations verbally during the meeting.SECI and MNRE will evaluate these inputs when finalizing the Scope of Work (SoW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) to select the PMU operating agency.
